Why Missions

Followers of Jesus Christ are by nature and purpose a missional people.  We are commanded by Christ "to go and make disciples of all nations."  That means we are to bring the Good News of salvation through belief and faith in Jesus Christ to all peoples whether they are across the street or on the other side of the world.

If we follow the example of the early church, the first century Christians, we will put the greatest part of our resources--time, money, prayer, and labor--into sending missionaries throughout the world.

Followers of Jesus who carry the Gospel and the love of Jesus to distant places often act as agents for other believers who because of obligations or circumstances cannot go.  Missions is the combined efforts of "goers" and "senders" working in partnership doing what neither could do alone.

God desires that no one would perish and suffer eternal separation from Him (2 Peter 3:9).  Followers of Jesus must therefore put their time and treasures towards making Christ known and to make disciples (lifelong learners and followers) of Jesus.

Christ will return one day to claim his faithful followers.  We are charged to help make sure that all have the opportunity to decide if they will follow Jesus and spend eternity in his presence.

It is our joy and our job to share the Gospel and to point others to God's kingdom.
